The Church Art Workshop (Zakład Sztuki Kościelnej) was founded in 1898 by Kazimierz Schaefer.

For over a century, this workshop has been producing sacred art and liturgical items, serving the religious needs of the region. Initially, it offered a wide range of products necessary for worship, including embroidered vestments, sculptures, and printed liturgical books. The workshop survived both World Wars and the Communist era, enduring through difficult times. Despite challenges, including the occupation of the workshop during World War II, the business continued to operate, even expanding with branches in Chorzów, Katowice, and Lviv before the war.

Photographs were taken in 2007.
